Using Open Space Technology, our Science ‘UnSummit’ 2010 was part of the inaugural USA Science and Engineering Festival in Washington DC

Approximately fifty trailblazers that came from organizations across the spectrum of science and technology gathered in Washington DC October 23rd-25th, 2010 to hold the first Science ‘UnSummit’ – part of the USA Science and Engineering Festival hosted by serial entrepreneur Larry Bock.

We gathered to learn about new tools and solution-oriented strategies that others have used to successfully drive major system change in fields ranging from software engineering and space technology to business and basic research.

We explored how science might be restructured, by sharing and learning about practices developed in other domains, such as the tech sector and Silicon Valley.

We engaged in dynamic panel discussions and Open Space conversations with peers – scientists, thought-leaders and innovators – to unleash our individual and collective leadership to develop the groundwork for a new national blueprint for science.
